Freshman Democratic Congressman Tries to Bring Booze onto House Floor

A millennial Democrat member of the U.S. Congress tried to take a six pack of beer onto the House floor before being told that that was not allowed, according to a POLITICO reporter.

“Freshman Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-SC) just tried to take a 6-pack of beer onto the House floor and was told that’s not allowed,” said correspondent Laura Barrón López on Twitter.

“’It’s Friday too,’” he said laughing as he turned around,” she continued.

Cunningham, 36, represents South Carolina’s 1st Congressional district, but apparently has not left his days as a College of Charleston party boy behind him.

This is what an idiocracy looks like. Once revered, the floor of the United States House of Representative is now being trampled upon by the likes of Cunningham and his fellow freshman representative, know-nothing 29-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).

Cunningham appears to be the prototypical millennial Democrat. He is a bona fide member of the Cult of Climate Change.

“I believe climate change is the single greatest non-military threat to our nation—especially living in a coastal region, where we see the impacts of rising sea levels and harsh storm systems firsthand,” according to his campaign website. “I believe this challenge presents an opportunity to invest in clean energy that promotes job growth and eliminates dirty energy sources, like drilling off our coast for oil, once and for all.”

He’d better recycle those beer cans when he’s through getting sloshed at the office on a workday.
