Human Trafficking: More Illegal Aliens Found In Stash House In Rio Grande Valley Area

A major human trafficking syndicate that led to the detainment of 40 illegal aliens was shut down by Special Agents from Customs and Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas.

McAllen Police, along with Hidalgo County Constables Office and the McAllen Border Patrol all participated in the investigation.

Agents had been monitoring stash houses in the Mission, Texas area that had heavy traffic coming in and out of the residences there, according to authorities.

The joint law enforcement operation monitored those coming and going from the residence for several days assuming this was a cartel narcotics stash and distribution ring, but what they found upon further inspection was something much different.

According to local news affiliate NBC KVEO, surveillance had been conducted in order to find a pattern in their scheduling. On the final day of the operation, authorities waited until all vehicles departed from the residential area, and moved in.

Instead of finding heaps of methamphetamine, cocaine, or marijuana, they found 19 illegal aliens-that according to authorities were part of a human trafficking operation.

The illegal aliens were given medical attention, food and water by authorities, and during a series of interviews with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, they were given a tip from one of the individuals that led to a separate raid of a stash house in Donna, Texas, where an additional 21 illegal aliens would be discovered.

Between the two raids, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) located 40 illegal aliens, all hailing from Central and Latin American countries.

Breitbart reported in May the arrest of 66 migrants located near the Rio Grande River border with Mexico after authorities identified five stash houses.

Again, with the help of Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen Station and teamed with Homeland Security Investigations and the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, three houses were raided near the border town of Mission, Texas. Officials carried out raids and arrested 52 illegal immigrants, according to information provided to Breitbart Texas by Border Patrol officials.

Another stash house was raided the same day by Rio Grande City agents and officers from the Rio Grande Police Department where the agents arrested another six illegal aliens found within that residence, officials stated.

Eight illegal immigrants were found  in a stash house and taken into custody just the day before when Rio Grande City agents teamed up with officers from the Roma Police Department, making that the fifth stash house to be raided in two days.

Border Patrol agents found “approximately 200 migrants awaiting their turn to be smuggled through or around inland checkpoints” in late April, according to Breitbart Texas.

An additional 70 migrants were located in a stash house in, you guessed it-McAllen, Texas.

Local CBS affiliate Channel 2 KUTV reported earlier this summer, “The United States Border Patrol Agents working the Interstate-25 checkpoint north of Las Cruces arrested a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient for the same reason.”

In that particular case, the DACA recipient was a woman who is originally from Mexico. Irania Martinez-Martinez picked up three men, all citizens of Mexico, at a McDonald’s in El Paso and took them to her house to allow them to shower. The woman was attempting to smuggle the three male illegal aliens into the United States.

Just a few weeks ago, in late August, Breitbart reported the arrest of a former recipient of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program on charges of human smuggling after receiving a call for assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers.

“After determining the U.S. citizen and the former DACA recipient were allegedly involved in an attempt to smuggle two Mexican nationals, the Border Patrol agents took charge of the case and transported the suspects to the Laredo South Station for processing. The former DACA recipient faces a hearing before an immigration judge,” Breitbart reported.
